His mission was providing clients with compassionate, results-oriented guidance for complex family-law issues. Attorney Alan R. Silverman uses his unique approach to successfully accomplish your objectives as he helps you cope with the many challenges inherent in the family-law legal process.

Before starting law school, Alan R. Silverman was a Marriage, Family Court and Child Counselor and a clinical psychologist. His credentials include a Ph.D. in counseling psychology, a master’s in guidance and counseling, a master’s in behavioral sciences and epidemiology, and a bachelor’s in psychology. During his 15-year career in the mental-health profession, Mr. Silverman performed a wide range of services to assist families and children in transition, including:

Family Court therapy
Individual therapy for children, adolescents and adults
Group therapy
Marriage counseling
Hypnosis
Child abuse treatment
Adolescent treatment
Forensic testing in adolescent and geriatric hospital units
Psychotherapy for adults and children
Residential treatment for children and adolescents adjudicated dependent or delinquent
Treatment of developmental disabilities

Geriatric treatment

Alan R. Silverman has an education and practice in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) techniques. ADR typically minimizes expenses and reduces the time required to complete a marital dissolution or to resolve issues that the parties may have, not limited to marital dissolution. Additionally, ADR can be less stressful because you retain more control over the process.

Silverman Family Law, APC provides advice about settling your divorce using mediation and collaborative divorce ADR methods. To develop a sense of cooperation and cordiality between spouses, we encourage you to consider ADR to resolve parental rights, child support and high-conflict child custody issues whenever possible.
