Nicola has been a solicitor since 1996 and specialises in family law, with a particular interest in helping people find realistic and cost-effective ways to divide their assets after separation.
Daniel Peake is a legal executive who has worked for Nicola since September 2010.
We come from a legal background. Daniel’s father is a District Judge and he too specialised in family law when he was a practising solicitor.
Avoiding bitterness is our uppermost priority in dealing with our cases – especially when there are children, and not just very young children.

Divorce can cause devastation in a family no matter how old the children are. It’s important to try to remain reasonable and find compromises no matter how much you may suddenly find that you dislike your former spouse or partner or how much they may have hurt you. The alternative is to waste a lot of time (and money) not to mention negative energy on a situation you can’t change.

Being able to come to terms with what has happened and move on with your life as soon as possible is the objective and this does not always equate to getting more financially or in other ways.

We help people overcome emotional obstacles to reach agreements over arrangements for children and dividing assets at this very difficult time, offering practical, honest advice and detailed legal information either as a solicitor or mediator.

Many years experience dealing with our courts have taught Nicola the importance of communication. She helps to facilitate that in the early stages of separation, when it is so important to start off on the right foot and yet so difficult to do .Perhaps the most important skill when advising people through separation is not to patronise or to judge, not to imagine that you really understand how that person feels – because we are all unique and all respond to circumstances in our own way.
We will not interfere with decisions or agreements you have reached with a former partner or spouse but will give objective advice and legal information as required.Nicola has always had one simple rule when it comes to client care – treat everyone the way you would want to be treated, with courtesy, respect and honesty.

We are based in Cheadle Hulme in Stockport. Please see the map below for our location. But we think it is important to be flexible when dealing with mediation in particular. Therefore we will travel to a number of locations around South Manchester, Cheshire and Trafford to facilitate mediation.If you are outside our area or abroad we may still be able to help you.
