Overview:

Wilson Gunn Solicitors provide expert legal advice on all elements of intellectual property law including, patents, trademarks, copyright, domain names and portfolio management. As well as the quality of our advice, we pride ourselves on providing you with the best level of client service.
We offer a full range of intellectual property services covering patents, trade marks, designs, copyright, domain names, searching and watching, renewals and portfolio management.

Intellectual property is one of the most important, and valuable, assets a business can have.

We are able to identify protection which may be available for you, and develop a strategy to best protect your intellectual property. Our highly experienced team has significant experience of intellectual property, but we also understand the importance of intellectual property commercially. We will work with you to help you use intellectual property as a commercial tool to support your business. We will also communicate with you effectively, ensuring you know what is happening with your intellectual property and the commercial impact on your business.

We are able to file appropriate applications for protection on your behalf and guide you through the, often complex, procedures involved in seeking grant of intellectual property rights both in the UK and throughout the world.

Beyond grant of protection we handle routine renewal and maintenance of rights through our in house renewals service.

We advise on enforcement and exploitation of intellectual property rights, seeking to restrain infringement, if necessary supporting litigation, and, where possible, negotiating and drafting licences.

Our attorneys also advise in relation to third party intellectual property rights including the validity of third party rights, and how they affect you. We can oppose grant of, or attack validity of granted, third party intellectual property rights.

The submission of an idea to the firm does not of itself grant intellectual property rights to either party and does not transfer any rights in the idea to the firm unless there is a written agreement to the contrary or an assignment to that effect.
