His life experience as an immigrant from Romania combined with his love for the United States gave him a unique desire to work in the field of immigration law. Twelve years later, Potra Law Firm now consists of two Partners, three Associates, and seventeen Legal Assistants.
Potra Law Firm has extensive experience in immigration law and criminal defense work. Our immigration attorneys appear on behalf of clients before the immigration court, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Our criminal defense attorney represents our clients in the various municipal and state courts of Georgia. What happens in criminal court can have serious consequences on one’s immigration relief, and our attorneys know how to integrate the two and advocate for the best interests of our clients.

Family Immigration
The process of applying for a Foreign National to obtain an immigrant visa (green card) is known as sponsorship and is filed with USCIS using Form I-130. Once the I-130 is approved, the Foreign National relative may be able to adjust status to that of Lawful Permanent Resident depending on a number of factors, including the immigrant visa’s priority date
Business Immigration
There are two types of employment-based immigration visas: immigrant (also called permanent) visas, and nonimmigrant (also called temporary) visas. We work closely with corporations of varying sizes and industries, including technology, healthcare, and non-profit, to determine the most appropriate employment-based immigration visas for their Foreign National employees.
