Travis is the founder of Travis Newton P.A, where he has dedicated most of his career to defending motorists cherged with Driving Under the Influence and individuals charged with a crime. Travis Newton believes flawed methodolgy in the ever changing experimental psychology of DUI detection is responsible when innocent motorists find themselves wrongfully accused of DUI.

Attorney Newton holds a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Clemson University and continues research concerning the relationship between behavioral psychology and standardized field sobriety testing. Fear, nervousness, fatigue and other unavoidable factors can, and will, cause an innocent motorist to show signs that mimic impairment according to Attorney Newton. DUI detection procedure and Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were developed by The National Highway Traffic safety Administration (NHTSA). The State of South Carolina has adopted NHTSA procedures for DUI enforcement. Attorney Travis Newton disagrees with NHTSA procedures as they relate to DUI. Attorney Newton is not alone. There are scientists, independent studies, and psychological experiments that contradict the effectiveness of NHTSA DUI detection standards. Travis Newton’s years of research and wealth of experience lead him to the conclusion that NHTSA standards of DUI detection are more than just flawed. Attorney Newton believes NHTSA DUI detection procedures are unfair, biased, discriminatory, and deceitful.
