Overview

Stephen O’Keefe’s entire legal career has been spent in the area of medical negligence, personal injury and wrongful death. Steve has actively tried cases involving doctors, hospitals, nursing homes and injured victims throughout Ohio. His experience in analyzing and understanding complex medical and legal issues levels the playing field for injury victims and their families. He devotes his entire professional life to achieving the best possible result for each and every client he represents.

He is invited frequently to lecture and educate other attorneys on the topic of medical malpractice and personal injury nationally and throughout Ohio. He has lectured on the topic of medical negligence to The Dayton Bar Association, The Clark County Bar Association, the Warren County Bar Association, The Ohio Association of Justice, The Hamilton County Association of Trial Attorneys, The University of Dayton School of Law, the National Business Institute, various hospitals, The Ohio Association of Hospital Risk Managers, the National Hospital Insurance Forum, as well as many medical malpractice insurance companies.

Mr. O’Keefe was selected by his peers to be a member of the prestigious Ohio Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. There are less than one hundred attorneys statewide who have been selected into the Ohio Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He has been voted by his peers as a Rising Star in Ohio Super Lawyers in the area of Plaintiff’s Medical Malpractice and Personal injury every year since 2006. Less than five percent of attorneys in the state of Ohio are honored as Super Lawyers. An even smaller percentage of lawyers are awarded this honor in the very narrow category of Plaintiff’s Medical Malpractice and Personal Injury.

Mr. O’Keefe is admitted to practice law before all the courts in Ohio, the United States Federal Court Southern District of Ohio, and the United States Court of Federal Claims. Steve was born in Dayton and raised in Springfield, Ohio. He graduated from Springfield Shawnee High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University and his Juris Doctorate degree from The Cleveland Marshal College of Law where he graduated Cum Laude. Mr. O’Keefe was formerly a partner in the firm of Reminger & Reminger where he led their medical malpractice section from 1997 – 2003. Prior to that, Mr. O’Keefe had worked exclusively in the area of medical malpractice with the law firm of Jacobson, Maynard, Tuschman & Kalur.

Mr. O’Keefe is the past Southwest Ohio District Representative to the Board of The Ohio Association for Justice. He was the Ohio Association of Justice Chair of the Medical Malpractice section from 2007 through 2009. He is a member of The American Association for Justice, Dayton Bar Association, Clark County Bar Association, Greene County Bar Association, Warren County Bar Association, The Ohio State Bar Association, The American Bar Association, and the Miami Valley Trial Lawyers Association.
