Overview:
Plano Lawyer Dan Chern has been serving his country and Texans for more than 13 years.
The Chern law offices are focused on the following primary areas of law: business law, estate planning, elder law, real estate law, and employment law. Dan’s vast legal experience gives him the ability to understand your needs whether you’re an individual, a family, or a corporation. MILITARY SERVICE
Prior to college and law school, Dan served in the United States Army as a Squad Leader and Combat Engineer in the 101st Airborne and 58th Combat Engineer Company. While stationed on the East-West German Border, he received numerous commendations and was honorably discharged in 1990. Shortly after being discharged, Dan was called back to duty to serve in Operation Desert Storm.
EDUCATION
While working towards his undergraduate degree from the University of North Texas, Dan maintained a 4.0 in his major and made the Dean’s List before attending the Texas Weslyan School of Law, where he was an Articles Editor for the University’s Law Review. His article, “Why Mandatory IOLTA’S Should Be Eliminated” was published in the Law School’s Review and has been cited numerous times in other publications. Dan received his Juris Doctorate degree after graduating Cum Laude and in the top 10% of his class.
PRACTICE
Prior to opening his own practice, Dan was an Associate at an Insurance Defense firm before joining a downtown Dallas Law Firm where he worked for over 10 years, the last three as Partner. After two years as a trial and appellate attorney for a Denton based firm, Dan established the Law Offices of Dan Chern in 2010. He has also served as a part time Associate Municipal Judge for the city of Allen, Texas.
Dan Chern is dedicated to delivering the highest quality of service to his clients in the areas of Employment Law (Wrongful Termination, Title VII and FMLA Claims), Breach of Contract, Construction Defect Claims, Breach of Fiduciary Duty Claims, Bankruptcy Creditor Claims/Adversary Proceedings, Business Torts, Deceptive Trade and Practices and the Fair Debt and Collection Act. His Business Law practice takes him throughout North Texas (such as
Dallas, Denton, Collin and Tarrant counties), as well as Harris County, Bexar County and many others and maintains offices in Plano and Dallas to serve the needs of his clients. He is licensed to practice in Texas and at the Federal level. (Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals; Northern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas (to include Bankruptcy Courts)
Dan resides in Allen, Texas, with his wife of 16 years, son, two dogs and a cat.
