Overview:
Jon is a graduate from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, in Fort Worth, TX. While in law school, he focused on criminal law, specifically Texas Criminal law and planned to be a Texas criminal defense attorney. Jon took courses in criminal law, and white collar crime and interned at the Tarrant County District Attorney’s office. Additionally, Jon was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society. Jon took the education he received in law school and quickly became a trial attorney. The day after passing the bar, Jon was in a courtroom handling a docket as an assistant county attorney in Hunt County. While an assistant county attorney, Jon learned how the state prosecutes family violence, DWI, and other misdemeanor cases. This experience has proved invaluable to Jon as he works as a Texas criminal defense attorney protecting the rights of the citizens.

Prior to opening his own practice, Jon worked as a prosecutor in Tarrant County. Jon has tried everything from misdemeanors, such as DWI, family violence, assaults, and thefts, to felony cases, such as burglary of a habitation, engaging in organized crime, compelling prostitution, complex white collar crimes. Jon was assigned to misdemeanor courts and felony courts as well as to the Family Violence Unit and the Economic Crimes Unit. Jon uses the valuable insight he gained as a prosecutor to help you traverse the criminal justice system with any of these specialized cases. In addition to handling several hundred cases as a prosecutor, Jon also attended training focusing on trial skills, juvenile law, and economic crime cases. This experience gives Jon unique insight into the criminal justice system and the ability to strategically and ethically handle your case from the minute you are arrested and a case is filed by the police. When you are searching for a criminal defense attorney in Texas to handle your DWI, assault, or other case experience is important. In addition to experience, you want a criminal defense attorney who will handle your case with your needs in mind. Jon prides himself on listening to each of his clients and keeping them informed of the progress of their cases.

Jon is a member of the Collin County Bar Association, the Tarrant County Bar Association, the Collin County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. Jon is not simply a criminal trial lawyer willing to come to your defense; he is also a member of the community. Jon grew up in the Metroplex, attended Baylor University, where he received a Bachelor’s of Arts in Journalism and met his wife. Jon worked for a brief period of time as an analyst for J.P. Morgan Chase before deciding to dedicate his life to trial advocacy. Jon also regularly updates his blog Your Choice, Your Defense.
