If Sam McRae could be a superhero, he would. But not having any superhuman powers, he thought he’d be a lawyer instead. He may not be able to scale a building, but he can and does help his clients over troubled waters when they seem humanly impassable. This is one of the reasons he got into this line of work. To Sam, the ability to help a client solve a problem that he or she thought was unsolvable makes it all worthwhile.

Sam’s uncle was an attorney when he was growing up, and he used to help him out in the office. When Sam was in his late twenties, he took a close look at the people who had enabled him to become the person he was, and his uncle was one of those influential people. Sam is not against admitting that he has had his own legal problems in the past, and his uncle saw Sam through many of those mistakes as his attorney.

Therefore, when he says that he understands what you’re going through, he means it.

He knows what it’s like to be dealing with things that you don’t or can’t understand. He’s been the defendant. And he’s seen firsthand that you are not your mistakes. His uncle saved him from many of his own mistakes, and in return, he has devoted his life to saving others from theirs.

Sam received his law degree from Georgia State University in Atlanta. While at law school, Sam interned with the DeKalb County Public Defenders, starting in appeals. He quickly moved into the courtroom and handled hundreds of criminal and traffic cases even before graduation. As a result of his years of experience, Sam excels in the courtroom and has succeeded in getting many of his clients’ cases dismissed by applying the law of procedure alone.

Sometimes it takes going to the extreme for a client, and Sam has done his fair share of just that. He was a part of the disbandment of the DeKalb traffic court when they were putting people in jail for 30 and 40 days just for speeding. Day in and day out, Sam goes the extra mile to make his community a better place for him and his clients to live, and he loves every minute of it. He is always willing to try to change things for the better if he can.
