Joshua A. Blanchard

Joshua Blanchard is top Michigan Criminal Defense Attorney who holds a BBA in Accounting from Northwood University and a Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

Mr. Blanchard joined Blanchard Law as partner in 2010. Prior to that, he operated a solo law practice representing clients in criminal trial matters throughout the state of Michigan. He has tried a number of jury trials to verdict and has obtained “not guilty” verdicts for his clients in both bench and jury trials in courts throughout Michigan.

Mr. Blanchard’s practice focuses on criminal defense with an emphasis on crimes involving allegations of sexual assault, child abuse, drugs, assaultive crimes and financial crimes. Mr. Blanchard is known by prosecutors and judges from all over the state as an advocate who will fight for his clients and who isn’t afraid to try a case to a jury.

Mr. Blanchard is a Michigan criminal defense attorney who is available to handle cases in every state and federal court in Michigan. He is admitted to practice before the Michigan Supreme Court as well as the Federal District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan. He has represented people charged with crimes in other states through association with local attorneys.

Mr. Blanchard represents people in need of a strong trial advocate throughout Michigan. He is student of advanced trial and communication techniques. He is a graduate of the CDAM Trial Lawyers College. He is also certified to administer Standardized Field Sobriety Tests pursuant to the National Highway Safety Administration Protocol. Mr. Blanchard is one of the few attorneys in Michigan to have hands-on training with the Datamaster DMT evidential breath testing device.

Mr. Blanchard is also a graduate of the prestigious Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College. As part of his training, Mr. Blanchard spent three weeks secluded at Thunderhead Ranch in the mountains of Wyoming where he studied advanced trial techniques under the direction of Gerry Spence and some of this country’s best trial lawyers.

In 2011, Joshua Blanchard was elected by his peers to serve on the Board of Directors for the Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan. He also serves on the executive council for the Criminal Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan. Mr. Blanchard has been rated as a Super Lawyers “Rising Star” by his peers. He is also a member of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) Legal Committee, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Michigan Association for Justice.

Keeley D. Blanchard

Keeley D. Blanchard is a highly rated Michigan criminal defense attorney, who has been practicing criminal defense with Blanchard Law since 2005. She has successfully represented clients in criminal matters throughout the state of Michigan.

Keeley prides herself on providing the best representation to each and every one of her clients. She focuses primarily on defending serious felonies, including criminal sexual conduct, child pornography, child abuse, drug crimes, and assaultive crimes.

Navigating the journey through the criminal justice system when you are charged with a crime can be incredibly difficult, and Keeley ensures that her clients will have access to her for thorough answers to the tough questions that they are facing. Additionally, Keeley has no fear of the courtroom. Unlike many lawyers who are simply looking to work out a plea agreement and get out of the case as quickly as possible, Keeley doesn’t run from the courtroom. Melissa Freeman

Melissa Freeman is an Associate Attorney with Blanchard Law. She focuses her practice on defending people charged with crimes in courts throughout Michigan.

Melissa graduated from Aquinas College, cum laude, with a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Political Science, with a minor in Spanish. She earned her J.D. from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, magna cum laude.

While in law school, Melissa served as an associate editor for her school’s law review, assisting in the publication of two law review periodicals. She also participated in her school’s Moot Court competition and received the Certificate of Merit for Michigan Criminal Practice.

Melissa developed a passion for criminal defense during law school. She was an extern at the Kent County Office of the Defender, where she was able to assist in the defense of indigent clients facing a wide-range of criminal charges.

After completing her externship, Melissa decided she wanted a career path in criminal defense. In February 2015, she began working for Blanchard Law as a law clerk, which provided a great opportunity to further her knowledge and skill in the practice of law. After passing the Michigan bar exam, Melissa gratefully accepted a position as an Associate Attorney with Blanchard Law.

In her personal life, Melissa enjoys spending time with her daughter and family. She is involved in her daughter’s school, serving on the Board of Education.
