Overview:

Mansell, Engel & Cole is a law firm dedicated to representing policyholders and their businesses against insurance companies that have denied their insurance claims. Our firm was first established in downtown Oklahoma City on January 1, 1994, and has over 100 years of combined insurance litigation experience. Our firm’s members combined decades of experience working as in-house counsel in the insurance industry for an insurance company, jury trial experience, and extensive research and writing in insurance litigation. Our firm was the first law firm in the State of Oklahoma handling exclusively insurance and bad faith litigation representing policyholders. For over 20 years, our firm has litigated and tried insurance cases that helped define and develop Oklahoma bad faith law in insurance litigation. During both decades, our firm litigated and tried, in Oklahoma City’s federal court, more bad faith insurance cases against insurance companies than any firm in the State of Oklahoma. We have recovered millions of dollars from insurance companies on behalf of people and their businesses on denied insurance claims.

Mansell, Engel & Cole brings the highest standards of quality and professional proficiency to insurance litigation. In fact, over the last 20 years, over 90% of our cases were referred by other lawyers that trusted their client’s case to our firm for litigation. In our business, integrity and reputation are of premier importance. Our firm, and each individual firm member, has consistently achieved the highest possible rating – AV Preeminent® – from our voting peer lawyers in Martindale-Hubbell® – the recognized rating authority in the legal profession. Every member of our firm has lectured and sat on panels at educational and association seminars to address insurance and bad faith litigation for other lawyers and judges. One member spent 10 years as Amicus Curiae chairman researching and briefing important cases on behalf of Oklahoma’s trial lawyers association. Our firm members have been selected to sit on the Court’s rule-making committees, to work in the review and formulation of Oklahoma’s Uniform Jury Instructions, insurance legislation and regulations and other legal drafting. Our firm members have presented important insurance legislative issues to the governor, legislative committees, and individual legislative members on behalf of Oklahoma’s trial lawyers. The members of our firm are recognized as leaders in our profession in this area of insurance litigation.

In insurance litigation, it is a simple fact that the insurance companies and their defense counsel know which lawyers can and will successfully try jury cases against them. In order to maximize the recovery in your insurance case, it is critical that you work with attorneys with the ability, work ethic, and reputation to succeed. Most people prefer, and are best served by, a good settlement of their case. For that reason, over 90% of these insurance cases are settled. At Mansell, Engel & Cole, our work ethic and quality can only increase the likelihood that your case will settle and will settle for a greater amount. We develop and prepare your case for presentation to a jury and this insures that you negotiate from a position of strength when it is time to address settlement in your case. The insurance company must know that you are willing, prepared, and capable of a strong presentation to a jury at trial in order to achieve a proper settlement. In those relatively few cases that our clients are forced to go to trial in order to achieve a proper result, our successes only enhance our reputation for the benefit of future clients’ settlements. Insurance companies are knowledgeable and strong. You need lawyers with the preparation, resources, ability and reputation to win your case.

Our firm addresses every type of insurance policy denial – residential and commercial roof, fire, and tornado losses – personal health insurance, life insurance, and credit insurance – long term care insurance, including all types of nursing homes, home health care and daily indemnity polices for the elderly – uninsured and underinsured motorist claims under automobile policies – refusals to defend and indemnify under commercial general liability policies – specialty policies such as cancer only, heart attack and stroke, disability or accident policies – and all other types of denials of insurance coverage under your insurance policy. Choose the professionals with the knowledge and strength to win your case.
