Our Practice
Centrally located in Craig Ranch at the crossroads of McKinney, Frisco, Plano and Allen, Texas, we serve clients throughout the DFW Metroplex and North Texas who have legal concerns or problems involving family law and divorce divorce matters. Solutions to problems in these areas can come in many forms. We offer both mediation and collaborative law approaches to resolving disputes as well as more than 47 combined years of trial experience.
Attorneys
Partner Brian Loughmiller is board-certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in both family law and civil trial law and over the last 22 years, has litigated cases throughout North Texas and served as a mediator for both Dallas County and Collin County courts. In 2001, the National Law Journal recognized him for having one of the top 100 verdicts in the United States that year. In 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013, Mr. Loughmiller was recognized as a “Super Lawyer” by Texas Monthly magazine — a designation that distinguishes him as being among the top five percent of family law attorneys practicing in Texas Mr. Loughmiller has served as the President of the Collin County Bar Association in Collin County, Texas. As a member of the Collin County Bar Association, Mr. Loughmiller organized a committee of attorneys to form the first Family Law Section in Collin County, ultimately acting as chairman for the first two years of the Family Law Section’s existence. Mr. Loughmiller has the distinction of being a Fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, a nationally recognized group of certified family law attorneys. Mr. Loughmiller has served on the City Council of McKinney since 2002 and has been Mayor of McKinney, Texas since 2009.
Partner Eric Higgins has practiced family law in Collin County for the past 14 years, litigating highly contentious cases involving both complex property division and child custody issues. He has also been cited by Texas Monthly magazine as a “Rising Star” in the area of family law practice. Mr. Higgins has served on the Board of Organizations recognized for assisting children who find themselves thrust into the legal process.
