Boroff has practiced since 1974, serving the first ten years of his career as a prosecutor in the Santa Cruz County District Attorney’s Office where he tried several high profile cases including public official misconduct cases and murderers. He became a guest lecturer on expert witness cross examination for the California District Attorneys Association and lectured throughout the state.
