The Kawashima Law Group (KLG) is dedicated to obtaining the best result possible for their clients while balancing the time and cost. Professional integrity is the foundation upon which KLG is built and upon which every client can depend.
Clients often wonder how they will be billed. KLG strives to make the billing process simple and transparent. The following are generally the billing options available to KLG clients:
HOURLY FEE
Typically, the firm will request a refundable retainer in an amount determined by the complexity of the matter. If the matter is resolved prior to depletion of the retainer, the remainder will be returned to the client. Once the retainer is depleted, the firm will begin invoicing the client at the end of each month with payment due within 30 calendar days thereafter. The firm bills time for specific tasks on 6 minute intervals.
CONTINGENCY FEE
A case may be accepted on a contingency fee arrangement which means that the client will pay no legal fees unless the firm successfully collects a sum of money for the client. The client is responsible for all legal costs such as filing fees, copy costs, etc. and a retainer may be requested of the client. Typically, the firm will receive one-third of any sums collected under this arrangement.
FLAT FEE
The firm will discuss all of these options with each client at the outset and the mutually agreed upon billing option will be documented in a written retainer agreement between the client and KLG.
