For more than 30 years, the law office of F. Marian Weeks has been serving the needs of individuals and families throughout Georgia in family law matters. We represent people throughout Cobb, Cherokee and Paulding Counties and are devoted exclusively to matters related to divorce and family law, including child custody, property division, alimony, child support and more.
Having a specific focus allows us the ability to stay updated with the frequent changes to the law as it relates to family law cases. It has also granted us a depth in knowledge, resources and insight that will benefit your case.
Determining the Appropriate Path to Take
Divorce and other family law cases can essentially take two basic paths. Either a settlement can be reached through mediation or other amicable means of resolving the dispute, or the case can be presented in the courtroom for a judge and jury to decide. Our experienced lawyer will work with you to determine the path that is right for your case.
Attorney Marian Weeks is a certified mediator, certified arbitrator and experienced Guardian ad Litem. She has extensive experience in using both means of alternative dispute resolution to resolve complicated family law matters. She knows when they work, and when it is appropriate to pursue litigation.
In the cases that cannot be resolved through less contentious means, Marian fully understands how to prepare a case for trial. She is an aggressive litigator and willing to go the distance to get you results. She understands the importance of carefully constructing your case with the strength to withstand a trip to court.
Extensive Courtroom Experience
Marian Weeks knows the local courts and has practiced in them for more than 30 years. This experience is considerably important in family law cases because a great deal of discretion is placed in the hands of the judge as well as the members of the jury. Marian has practiced in front of these judges many times, knows their biases, their habits and tendencies. She knows precisely how to take that information into account when she builds your case.
