Demetrios Dimitriou (retired)

Demetrios Dimitriou advises other San Francisco business lawyers about their business operations, professional liability and ethical standards. He also provides professionals with estate planning and general business advice. Mr. Dimitriou often serves as a guest lecturer and publishes articles on timely business law topics in legal journals. He is a member and past Chair of the Bar Association of San Francisco Ethics Committee and the executive committee of the Law Practice Management Section, among other memberships.

Attorney Demetrios Dimitriou received an AV rating by Martindale Hubbell, which signifies preeminent legal ability and impeccable ethical standards, as well as a Juris Doctorate from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1959.

J. Harmond Hughey

J. Harmond Hughey brings more than 28 years of legal experience to Dimitriou and Associates, PC.  His areas of work include general litigation, real estate litigation, landlord-tenant law with an emphasis on the San Francisco Rent Code, including  practice before the SF Rent Board.  Handling both landlord and tenant cases, Mr. Hughey will zealously act as your advocate with knowledge of tactics from both perspectives.  In diverse litigation practice, he has worked on cases ranging from multi-millions to hundreds of thousands.
Mr. Hughey attended college in Los Angeles at Occidential College, University of California Los Angeles, and obtained a BA in International Relations from Antioch University, Los Angeles.   He came to the Bay Area in 1986 to attend the University of  San Francisco  School of Law, obtaining there a J.D. in 1989.  While at USF he served as Magister of their branch of the International Legal Honors Society of Phi Delta Phi, the oldest legal organization in continuous existence in the United States and the International Law Society.  From there he went on to serve as an associate at Lewis D’Amato, Brisbois & Bisgaard in San Francisco, and later the international business and litigation firm of Nichols, Doi, Rapaport & Chan, before opening his own practice in 1994.  Mr. Hughey is admitted to practice law all the district courts in California, in addition to the California Bar, the United States Court of International Trade and the U.S. Supreme Court.  He has also served as guest speaker on KALW’s Your Legal Rights with Chuck Finney focusing on San Francisco Rent Control.
