Overview:
Campbell Kyle Proffitt LLP has been an integral part of the Hamilton County community since 1915. In that year, Yale educated Cassius M. Gentry and Michigan University graduate Frank S. Campbell opened the law firm of Campbell and Gentry.
Since our inception, our firm name has changed several times, but our reputation for honesty, fairness and competence remain unchanged. We have provided Hamilton County with several prosecuting attorneys and four judges of the circuit or superior courts.
Six members of our firm were listed for inclusion as Super Lawyers or Rising Stars in the 2011 or 2012 Indianapolis Monthly Magazine. Several of our attorneys are AV Preeminent rated* by the Martindale-Hubbell peer review rating system, the highest rating for legal ability and ethics.
We have lawyers who have been selected to be fellows of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. We are the only firm based in Hamilton County with a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. Also, the only firm in the state of Indiana with a lawyer who is both a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.
Our firm has produced two past presidents of the Indiana State Bar Association, a very unusual feat given the size of the firm. We are the only firm whose home office is in Hamilton County with three lawyers listed in Woodward/White’s Best Lawyers in America.
Our firm has always been active in Hamilton County, with many presidents of various service clubs and chambers of commerce. Frank W. Campbell, now deceased, was named “citizen of the year” by the National Boys and Girls Club of America, and the Hamilton County Parks Department has named a bridge after partner Robert F. Campbell (deceased) in recognition of his volunteer work for its Parks Department.
