Our Criminal Defense Law Firm
Defense Attorneys Handling Criminal Law Matters

The attorneys at our firm are passionate advocates for the preservation of clients’ rights and interests. When handling a criminal law matter, we are committed to providing the highest standard of legal service which is courteous, dedicated, and highly responsive to the individual needs of each client we serve.

While our law firm is based in Bergen County, we work with clients accused of criminal charges in Northern New Jersey, including the Federal courts in Newark, and the State and Municipal courts of Bergen County, Essex County, Passaic County, Hudson County, Union County, Morris County, Sussex County, Warren County, Hunterdon County, Middlesex County, Hackensack, Paterson, Passaic, Bergenfield, Carlstadt, Cliffside Park, East Rutherford, Edgewater, Elmwood Park, Englewood, Fort Lee, Glen Rock, Ho-Ho-Kus, Leonia, Lodi, Lyndhurst, Mahwah, Paramus, Ramsey, Ridgefield Park, Ridgewood, River Edge, Rochelle Park, Rutherford, Saddle Brook, Teaneck, Waldwick, Westwood, Wood-Ridge, Wyckoff, Newark, Jersey City, Union City, and Elizabeth.

Our Experience

The criminal defense lawyers at our firm have extensive knowledge of local courts and procedures. Having served as former prosecutors, attorneys Paul B. Brickfield and Joseph R. Donahue have an understanding of the inner workings of prosecutors’ offices and how they perceive particular offenses, mitigating factors, and aggravating factors. This better enables our firm to grasp the strengths and weaknesses of a case and anticipate the approach of the prosecution.

Our Approach

Our approach in each case is to put our client in the best possible position. Our first goal is to obtain a case dismissal or acquittal. If a case dismissal or acquittal is not achieved, we seek the minimization of any criminal or collateral consequences through all possible and legal means. In cases in which a plea agreement best serves the needs of a client, we consider the full impact of a plea agreement, including alternate sentencing options and measures that improve the impact of a plea on a client’s record. Our attorneys are resolute advocates and never hesitate to take a case to trial if they feel it is in the best interests of a client.
