ABOUT BEVERLY
Beverly Cohen has been practicing divorce and family law in Cobb and the surrounding counties since 1992. Although she represents clients in all situations, a significant portion of her practice involves representing victims of domestic abuse in divorce actions. Although the majority of her practice is domestic relations, she has experience with appeals, wills, and probate. She represents clients in Cobb, Fulton, Gwinnett, Cherokee, Paulding, and Forsyth counties.
After earning a business degree in accounting from Kennesaw College (now Kennesaw State University) in 1985, Beverly earned a Paralegal Certificate in 1985 and a law degree from Atlanta Law School in 1991. While pursuing her education, she also went through her own divorce, raised three children, worked to support her family, and accomplished several other personal goals.
Beverly is licensed to practice in all trial courts in the State of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
Since 1992, Beverly has also taught the popular pre-divorce seminar she created, What You Need to Know Before You File for Divorce™.

Attorney
Beverly L. Cohen
June 1992 – Present (24 years 2 months)

I have been representing clients in divorce and family law matters for over 20 years. At the time I began practicing law, I also began teaching a seminar I created, “What You Need to Know Before You File for Divorce.” The seminar is for anyone who is contemplating filing for divorce but does not know what to expect. In one 3 hour seminar, I cover over 20 topics including alimony, custody, child support, property division, and temporary hearings as well as both legal and practical ways to protect yourself, your children, and your property. The seminar is currently taught at the Marietta Community School in Cobb County. www.mariettacommunityschool.com

The next seminar is September 18, 2012.

In addition to representing clients in family law matters, my practice includes appeals.
