Overview:

Ann Z. Knotek has been a resident of Brownsburg, Indiana since 2002. She practiced family law in Chicago, Illinois from 1993 – 2000, and has had a strong commitment to children and families in the law since interning for her family law professor while a student in law school. Ms. Knotek is a member of the Indiana Bar, and a Registered Family and Civil Mediator in Indiana. She received training as a Guardian Ad Litem from Kids’ Voice of Indiana in 2010 and is a volunteer Guardian ad Litem for Kids’ Voice of Indiana in Marion County.

Born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Ms. Knotek graduated from South Side High School in 1984. She graduated from Yale University in New Haven, CT in 1988 with a degree in Literature. After graduating from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, MO in 1993, Ms. Knotek was admitted to the Illinois Bar in November, 1993. (Her law license is currently on inactive status in Illinois.)

After moving to Central Indiana, Ms. Knotek was a Staff Attorney at the Indiana Department of Natural Resources from 2003 – 2008. During that time, she was an active committee member with the Indiana State Bar Association’s Civil Rights of Children and Women in the Law Committees. She is currently a member of the American Bar Association, Indiana State Bar Association (Civil Rights of Children and Women in the Law Committees) Hendricks County Bar Association, and Rainmakers Marketing Group.

In addition to her volunteer work for Kids’ Voice, Ms. Knotek participates in the Hendricks County Bar Association’s Pro Bono Project, Relay for Life in Hendricks County, and serves as an Alumni Interviewer for local applicants to Yale University. She is a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Brownsburg, and currently enjoys taking karate lessons with her family.
