Albert obtained a Master of Law (LL.M.) at University of Cambridge and Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) at City University of Hong Kong with First Class Honours. He was awarded several scholarships and prizes for his academic excellence.
During his short span of practice, Albert has successfully dismissed an appeal in the Court of Appeal as a sole advocate.
Albert has a particular interest in human rights law and public law. During his practice, Albert successfully obtained leave for judicial review on papers. During his limited practice, he successfully defended against an election petition of alleged treating and publishing election advertisement that includes false claim of support. During his studies, Albert was appointed a researcher at the Cambridge Pro Bono Project to prepare a research memorandum for the Inter-American Court of Human Rights from 2014-2015. He also contributed to a report about children’s rights entitled “Financial Institutions and the Rights of the Child: An Overview of Policies and Accountability Mechanisms” published by the International Commission of Jurists in April 2014.
Apart from human rights law, Albert is also interested in commercial law. He specialised in commercial law in his LL.M. at Cambridge. In his practice, he has experience in drafting pleadings and advising on land, probate, contractual and commercial matters. During his studies, he participated in the XXIV Old Buildings Commercial Equity Speed Moot and judged the Brick Court Team Moot. He also served mini-pupillages in several commercial sets of chambers in both Hong Kong and London.
