I, Gary C. Mitchell, have dedicated my legal career to representing, men, women, and children accused of crimes in the State of New Mexico. In a career extending thirty three years, I have represented defendants in cases that range from Children’s court to capital murder (death penalty cases). I have lost track of the number of criminal cases I have handled, but I dare say it is in the thousands. I have handled close to one hundred death penalty cases and over two hundred murder cases. My representation has been in virtually every judicial district in this state, together with numerous appeals to the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of the State of New Mexico. I have handled criminal cases in the United States District Court and appeals to the Tenth Circuit. I have also been involved in appeals to the United States Supreme Court. I am licensed before the United States Supreme Court, the Tenth Circuit, the United States District Court, the Supreme Court in the State of New Mexico.
I am particularly interested and have handled many personal injury cases, from wrongful death cases to slip and fall cases, obtaining very good results for my clients, often against the United States, the State of New Mexico, and large corporations. I have never forgotten for one moment my roots and strive every day to help those who are disadvantaged, poor or fighting against tremendous odds.
