CCPIT Patent and Trademark Law Office is one of the largest and oldest full-service intellectual property law firms in China. Our firm has 279 patent and trademark attorneys, among whom 69 are qualified as attorneys-at-law.Intellectual property specialist CCPIT was originally established in 1957 as a non-governmental body representing foreign companies before the Chinese authorities.
CCPIT, now a private law firm, employs around 250 patent and trademark attorneys, including around 70 attorneys-at-law. The firm is highly ranked in particular for patent contentious and prosecution work. Aside from its domestic headquarters in Beijing, the firm has a number of overseas representative offices in the US, Japan and Europe.
President Ma Hao focuses on patent licensing, prosecution, litigation and invalidation, as well as copyright matters. Ma’s primary expertise is in electrical engineering, computer software and hardware and telecommunications. He is also a CIETAC arbitrator and vice president of the All-China Patent Agents Association.
Long Chuanhong is the firm’s vice president. He specialises in patent prosecution, invalidation, enforcement and licensing for domestic and foreign clients. He also advises clients on matters including trade secrets, ownership disputes, and border enforcement. Fields of specialty for Long are chemistry, chemical engineering, material science, pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. Long, with patent and trademark attorney Deng Yi, acted for ExxonMobil in a key invalidation procedure case before China’s Patent Reexamination Board.
On a patent validity case retried before the Supreme People’s Court, Tang Weijie and Chen Xin successfully advised Beijing Double-Crane Pharmaceutical in having the court invalidate the other party’s patent on the ground of lack of inventive step.
Other key members of the firm are vice presidents and IP enforcement experts Meng Qinfa and Zhou Zhongqi.
