The question
I spent most of my career as a Park Ranger/Firefighter and later as a General Manager of a private park. A few years ago I was injured in a flood rescue blowing out both my elbows. After years going from one specialist to another a well known sports doctor put me on permanent disability with a lifting, pushing or pulling limit of 5lbs.
Well my days were done so my wife and I (she is filipina and I'm american) moved to the Philippines since the cost of living is much cheaper.
I finally broke down and put all my papers and information together and sent it in online to the USA. The next week the US Embassy called me (very polite) and told me the US had instructed the Embassy they needed to handle this and I needed to fill out different forms. The forms are very close to what you fill out in the US with just minor changes. My problem is I have no idea what time frame I should be looking at and I have no way to check on the status. When I contact the Embassy all they can tell me is it is being processed. Do you have an idea how long this will take?
