Question

tech with a problem

Asked 29 January 2011 · 1 answer

The question

Hello,

Thank you to anyone who can help me.

To begin Im a air conditioning tech. and own my own business,

I decided to take a job for a customer who had a mess on his hands.

The previous tech. really screwed up his duck work and air conditioning installation.

For a humble fee I did what I could and required more money to fix everything else that was neeeded to make this man happy.

He refused and we parted ways.

No for the problem.

I was on line ,googled my name and to my horror this lunatic developed a website devoted to just me.

He has posted all my debts, tax imfo, past legal issues,my social security #,traffic tickets,EVERYTHING!

As expected a huge article about how upset he was with my work.I couldnt believe what I was seeing.

He was blaming me for the mess the other tech did!!

Posting a ONE SIDED STORY of the work relationship may be something I could rectify with my own story posted about this man as well,

but to post my ss# and every d*rn issue in my past is over the top.

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW I CAN GET THIS SITE REMOVED and if I have any legal recourse.

Thank you all for your help.

John

It is very much a case of defamation.

1. You can file a case against him for defaming you.

2. Take a copy of his website. Print all the Whois info to prove his ownership of the website. You can go to (removed) to get the info.

3. Print each copies of the article where he wrote something wrong about you.

4. Collect as much evidence as you can.

5. You will have to prove, how his defamatory statements hurt your income and your current work.

6. Publicly post or publicly display in any manner an individual’s SSN. Publicly post or publicly display means to intentionally communicate or otherwise make available to the general public is illegal under law.

There are many defence too for defamation one big one is Freedom of speech.

All the best
