You might! Take it to small claims court. Talk to a

We hired a guy to fix our truck. We told him it was an electrical problem. He called and told us he checked it out & it wasn't electrical we needed a new transmission. He is a licensed mechanic so we believed him. We gave him $2000 to fix it. We went to pick it up today & it was doing the exact same thing. We immediately took it back. He took it out & said "I don't know it was shifting fine" then he checked the wiring & said we had a broken wire & admitted he never checked the wiring before. We want our money back because we didn't need a transmission but he says no because he already installed the new one & disposed of old one. Do we have a case?

We talked to a lawyer, he sent the guy a letter & he has agreed to pay us back half of what we paid. We're going to accepted that because although we didn't need it we do have a new transmission. Thanks!
