Question

overturn settlement

The question

Calif.

My pro bono attorney lied to me in order to get me to sign the divorce settlement. I know nothing about law and trusted him. My husband liquidated all my retirement (Im 58) and invested it in buying and upkeep of a medical building (LLC). I wanted my investment back after the sale of the LLC. My attorney said I would have to pay my part of the mortgage, taxes and upkeep until it was sold, and said I have no money. I gave up my rights to the money. He also stated my personal possessions were all 'garbage' and refused to include them in the settlement saying they were not worth anything. There are several other lies, plus he refused to change anything in the settlement.

I signed, but only because I trusted his knowledge, but he was lying to me in order to end the divorce.

Can I overturn the settlement? How? My husband was given everything. He even gave my attorney $5000 to be given him when I signed the settlement!
