Your best bet is to contact a lawyer in your area who handles traffic violations. He or she will be able to tell you whether these 2 problems you mentioned are grounds for a dismissal given the laws in your area and the circumstances you described. Many lawyers will offer free consultations, so you really have nothing to lose. Good luck!
The question
Hi,
I am hoping that someone here can help. Last night I was riding my motorcycle to my brother's house, where i only know how to get to his house, and cops were doing a check point which i was unable to see due to traffic. Long story short I passed two cars to make a right onto my brother's one way street, only to find it blocked with the smallest cones known to man. The other problem is I didn't realize it was a check point, I thought there was an accident. But then I got yelled at and given an improper passing ticket. After they pulled me down into a side street, getting me lost, they turned me around and allowed me to enter my brother's street. As for the ticket, I was wondering if I could get it dismissed. There are two potential provblems with this ticket I see. One, the bottom is signed and written out by the cop who pulled me over while the top is written by the cop who he allowed to fill the rest of the information out. Two, I thought my copy was supposed to be a complete carbon copy of the original, but it's not due to the fact that the top of my copy is in ink, and the bottom is carbon copy (officer's signature, tag and date). Are these two items grounds for disnussal?
