MCM rip off questions

The question

Good evening,

Long story short for the past few years I have been spiraling downhill in debt due to my ex girlfriend and her severe medical issues. My secret clearance was up for review last month and in order to keep it I needed to pay all my debt on time every month. I set up a lot of payment plans with debt collectors.

My problem is Midland Funding LLC(MCM) is a debt collector I set up payments for $200.00/month until my balance of 4800 is paid off. I setup automatic payments with them so it would come directly out of my checking account. 7 months later I go to check my balance and it had gone from 4800 to over 5000 in 7 months paying $200/month on time; however going over all my statements it shows the payments actually being processed on the 17th of each month 2 days late. I called and was informed they had not received a single payment on time in the past 7 months and I tried to explain that how is that even possible if I am on an automatic payment plan with them. I got nowhere, no answers and was even refused to change the date they request the payment from my bank from the 15th to the 12th to make sure it went through on time.

Is there any advice anybody has in dealing with this company? I am about ready to risk my career and just block them from automatic payments and just go live in the campground out of spite. I have been dealing with this company for so long and have not once had a single good encounter with anybody. Any advice on what I should do or is their any legal grounds to going to court and having late fees and interest revoked due to an incompetent automatic payment system they have? I am so frustrated with this company and would appreciate any advice at all. Thank you.
