Whether you are right or not will depend on whether a
lawyer will take action. But I certainly think it's worth speaking to an attorney about this.
I recently had an ER doctor prescribe me anti-anxiety
medication because he decided I was having a panic
attack when it was clear to anyone I was reacting to
the 17 yellowjacket stings I had had the day prior. I
told him I used to have panic attacks and that this
wasn't one, as I was obviously very calm; its just that
my feet and legs were going numb. Of course everything
got worse until I saw a family doctor who gave me real
help.
So your situation is much more serious, and if the
doctor had been more helpful, it could have prevented
injury to your wife. I would talk to a lawyer if I were
you, no question.
