The question
Re: Virginia Traffic law section 46.2-821 -- Failure to stop at stop sign.
Recieved ticket for this. Situation was that I was in a line of cars at a "T" intersection (could only turn left or right at intersection). The car ahead of me was pulled ahead of the stop sign toward the intersection - waiting to make a LEFT turn. I was behind, completely stopped AT the stop sign waiting to turn RIGHT. When the car ahead started turning left, I made my right turn (without making an additional stop at the intersection). The officer stated that you have to make a complete stop "in turn" as each car approaches the intersection. This is not specifically stated in the law section cited. Do I have grounds to get this dismissed?
