Question

car insurance expiration

Asked 18 August 2012 · needs an answer

The question

I have car insurance (AAA) that I usually pay the whole amount upfront for 6 months or so. It expired in March. I no longer have $ to pay for it so I didn't renew the contract/insurance. I assumed my insurance will just be terminated once I didnt renew it. They sent me a bill stating that they paid for my insurance up until June so now i owe them money. They will send me to collections if I don't pay. I have not driven the car and have not gotten a ticket or anything like that meanwhile. I am planning on looking for a cheaper insurance later when I can afford it. Do they have a right to just keep billing me like that? Will I eventually have to pay?
