Question

A clarification of my rights?

Asked 1 December 2012 · needs an answer

The question

5 months ago I bought, fixed up and lived in a house trailer to save money. With their encouragement, I moved it onto my parents property. One month ago, I moved into an apartment for the winter, having arranged with my parents to leave the trailer there until spring, when I plan on selling it. Yesterday, they abruptly changed their minds, and want it gone. Without my knowledge, they put an ad online saying that my trailer is free to anyone who can take it away. This trailer is in good shape, worth a couple thousand dollars. I tried to talk them out of it with no effect, and they have no reason for doing this other than that they want it gone. No, it isn't haunted or anything. Seriously though, do I have any way of stopping this? I don't want to lose out on that money, and I have no way of moving it myself. They believe that since I left it there, the trailer is theirs to give away. Could anyone let me know what I can do?
