Judgement against me. SS # it's not mine

The question

Hi I live in the state of New Jersey. I been going back and forth with a dept collector. Now a judgement has been ruled against me. The thing is that the social security it's not mine. I have sent them a copy of my ss card with the 1st 5 numbers blacked out and nothing has been done. I am not sure what else to do now that a judgement has been ruled against me. I feel like I'm being harassed. Any advised on what should be done?

To clarify: Is the issue at hand simply that the body that made the ruling against you has the wrong Social Security number? Or has a judgement been wrongly handed down against you with your Social Security number being used instead of the correct person's?

I am not a lawyer. You should speak to a debt collection harassment attorney in New Jersey, especially if you feel like you are being harassed.

In any case, there are rules governing what debt collectors can and cannot do. I hope this link provides a little clarity: (removed)
