Profile

Benchmark Medical Services, LLC President and CEO, John S Holloway, Sr., MBA, FF/NRP began his EMS career in 1986 at a rural 911 ambulance service in the Mississippi Delta. He then took his services to a rural Hospital-Based Primary 911 ambulance service in West Tennessee before being hired by Memphis Fire Department as a paramedic in 1993.

Mr. Holloway earned his NFPA Fire Fighter I Certificate in 1995 and NFPA Fire Fighter II certification in 1998. He completed the NFPA Fire Instructor Levels I and II in 1998 and 2005, respectively. With a commitment to fire scene control and safety Mr. Holloway completed the Fire Safety Officer Course in 2004.

Other significant accomplishments include: - Ambulance Administrator - Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter through 2008 - Skills/Practical evaluator for the States of Tennessee and Arkansas, and the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians - Training Center Coordinator for the American Heart Association - National Content Reviewer of Education Standards for the Continuing Education Coordinating Board for Emergency Medical Services (CECBEMS) - Item writer for National EMS Computerized Test Bank for Elsevier Publishing Review and Testing, through 2012 - TN EMS Education Association Member since 2005, having served as Treasurer, Vice-President, Conference Planning Chair, and President - International Trauma Life Support, Inc. Board of Directors elected to a three-year term to the ITLS Board of Directors, November 2013 in Vancouver, Canada.

Mr. Holloway retired from the Memphis Fire Department at the rank of Lieutenant, assigned to the Training Academy where he had served as a Fire and EMS Instructor, CECBEMS Coordinator, Paramedic Program Director, recruit testing and placement coordinator, and overall responsibility for coordinating medical continuing education and training.

Other duties included but was not limited to: design, development, delivery, supervision, management, and evaluation of initial and on-going EMS, Fire, Safety, and Professional Development provider and instructor programs.

He is licensed the state as an EMT-Paramedic, Instructor/Coordinator, and EMS Program Director remaining actively involved in medical and safety education, training, and evaluation. Mr. Holloway is also licensed by the State of Arkansas as an EMT-Paramedic/Instructor.
